The town Polná is located in the Vysočina region, 12 km northeast of Jihlava. Approx. 5 200 inhabitants live here. In 2006, Polná was declared the historic town of the year. The biggest landmark of the city is the area of the castle and chateau on the side of Peklo pond and the Assumption of the Virgin Mary Church - National Cultural Monument. The most celebrated event in Polná is Carrot Festival, which takes place every year in September. Near Polná, a romantic cycle path runs along the Sázava River.
