Swoboda is reacting to the increased demand of their quality products and is soon to be represented in Central America with a production facility for their high precision automotive components. In Novemeber, Matthias Groth, Managing Director of Swoboda, and Michael Follmann, CEO of the Swodoba Group, gave the starting signal for the construction of the plant in San Juan del Río, which lies 150 km (about 93 miles) north of Mexico City in the state of Querétaro. At the groundbreaking ceremony, 50 invited guests including several high-ranking politicians from Querétaro were present. The new plant will complement the work in other Swoboda plants such as the one in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and will emphasize the company's commitment to the markets in North and South America. The first construction phase is to be completed in April 2015 with a floor surface of 7,000 square meters (about 75,347 sq.ft.).
